A smooth camping trip begins before you leave home. Check the forecast, confirm the route, organize your equipment by purpose and share the plan with everyone travelling.
Prepare before departure
Test your tent, charge lights and phones, refill fuel only where it is safe and permitted, and place small essentials in labelled pouches. Keep food, sleeping equipment and wet-weather gear separate.
Arrive before dark whenever possible. Setting up with daylight gives you time to select level ground, understand the campsite and prepare for changing weather.
